Continuing to Grow
Heading into grade 10, I couldn't get over the nervousness that comes with having no idea what was going to happen ahead. The thought of tougher lessons remained massive, and I worried that I wouldn't be able to understand them as readily as before. To say the least, the idea of challenging topics was overwhelming. But amidst the nerves, there was a glimmer of hope for understanding teachers who could guide me through the rough patches.
I faced some tough challenges. Subjects like ESP, Filipino, ICT, and AP really gave me a hard time because their tests relied heavily on memorization, and that's not exactly my specialty. I struggled to remember all the details, which made it quite frustrating. On top of that, our classroom environment was far from ideal. Due to ongoing construction nearby, it was scorching hot most days, making it hard to concentrate. To make matters worse, there was a lingering odor from a leaking septic tank that was quite unpleasant. Despite all these obstacles, I'm determined to work even harder in the upcoming quarters and find effective strategies to tackle these challenges head-on. Another hurdle I faced in the first quarter, was my own tendency to procrastinate and be a bit lazy, especially when it came to preparing for tests. There were times when I found myself getting caught up in playing games or chatting with friends instead of reviewing our lessons. It's something I'm aware of and working on improving, but it definitely added an extra layer of difficulty to an already challenging period.
Despite the initial challenges, I'm proud to say that I managed to address them efficiently. Even with the less-than-ideal state of our classroom and the distractions it brought, I pushed through and made it a source of motivation. Surprisingly, I found that I was able to understand and learn the topics quite effectively. I made sure to actively listen during lessons and ensured I didn't miss out on any tasks assigned. This experience has taught me the importance of perseverance and adaptability, and I'm determined to carry this positive momentum into the next quarter.
Moving on, I will focus on improving my study habits and techniques. I recognize the need to be more effective in how I approach my subjects, especially in terms of memorization. I'll seek out strategies that work best for me and put in the necessary effort to strengthen my memory skills. Additionally, I'll make a conscious effort to truly understand the lessons, rather than just skimming the surface. This way, I can grasp the material more thoroughly and be better prepared for tests and assignments. I'm determined to make positive changes and face the next quarter with a newfound sense of dedication and purpose.

ReplyDeleteI think AP isn't really much on memorization, but rather just understanding the concept. Although, I admire your determination, keep up the good work! :D
